The PlayStation has always been the top of the “things from Santa” lists for many kids of many ages. Sony has now launched the refurbished PS3, a second hand PS3 with an official warranty. Is it really safe to get a second hand PS3? Is the risk really worth the money? Let’s have a look at the contrast between the two variants.
The Original PS3: The new unit is obviously the better option to the refurb ps3 provided you have the resources. Youget a warranty of a year. On the down side of certain variants of the PS3 do not have a PS2 compatibility meaning your favorite PS2 games are a no one on the console. So if you seriously have no problem spending all that cash, grab a new one now. No second thoughts.
The Refurbished PS3: This used PS3 is the real deal. The refurb PS3 is an official release from Sony. It can be bought for about $100 less. It surprisingly comes with a warranty of 90 days and in some cases a year so it’s highly reassuring though second hand. With full PS2 compatibility it’s the right option for those on a budget
